Childress indicated that he will discipline Smith, whom police found in a stairwell with a 24-year-old Hudson, Wis., woman early Saturday morning. Childress, however, refused to rule out that possibility.

A day after the Vikings jettisoned receiver Koren Robinson, who was arrested Aug. 15 for drunken driving and fleeing police, Childress acknowledged that his mission to create a "culture of accountability" remains a work in progress.
