Who gets the Dome?
Quote:
A potential schedule conflict with the Twins could force the Vikings to move their Oct. 8 game against Detroit, but Vikings officials apparently are considering whether to challenge an agreement that gives the Twins priority in the Metrodome.
The conflict would arise if the Twins win the American League Central Division, giving them home-field advantage in the division series. Game 5 of the division series, if necessary, would be Oct. 8 -- the same day the Vikings and Lions are scheduled to play.
The Twins' lease with the Metropolitan Sports Facilities Commission always has given them postseason scheduling priority, but that agreement expired after the 2004 season. Since then, the Twins have been operating under the same terms without a written agreement.

Hence the problem with teams from different sports sharing stadiums. They'll probally hook the Twins up since it's a playoff situation.

Exactly. It goes to the Twins because they've earned it.
You're telling me that in all that space in the twin cities they can't build a stadium??
The Vikings shouldn't be playing indoors anyway.

Screw the damn Twins. I've been to games for both the Twins and the Vikings, and I can guarantee you that no one gives a damn about the Twins compared to the Vikes. The Dome is half full at best for the Twins games (in winning years) and the Dome is always packed and 100 times as loud during the Vikings' games. You'd think they'd just be able to change the game-time of the Twins game or something...have theirs at night and the Vikes at noon. Can't be that hard to figure out.

there really isnt a whole lot of room to just build a new stadium in the middle of Mps-StP.....
I also dont think you could just have one play at night and one play durring the day, there is just too much to get ready fro and even only 1 day to get ready is pushing it...

Yeah, I got to thinking about that myself...the time involved. I wish I had a rough estimate of how long it would take them to switch it over if they brought in extra people to hurry it up. If the Vikes' game got over at 3, and the Twins game started at say 7 that'd be 4 hours, not taking into consideration the fact that the Twinks would get there several hours early, and the Vikes wouldn't leave right away lol. Not too feasible.

Not at all, even on a regular game day let's say Sunday, we used to get to Soldier at around 8am for a 12pm start, gates open at around 10, and it takes forever to setup. Sometimes after an early start I wouldn't leave until 7pm. It's not at all feasible.

You used to work at the stadium, getting it ready? Not converting it from baseball to football or anything though right? (I know nothing about the stadiums in Chicago...I only care at all about one, and that's the United Center for DA BULLS)

I worked for a sports memorabilia co. inside the stadium...
I used to stand at the 50yd line and watch them get everything ready, all the players stretching and working before the game, coaches testing the field, the sound check, all that stuff... it's an amazing thing to watch.
edit: And the Bears haven't played in wrigley in a loooong time, lol...
Each team here has their own field/stadium. The Bulls and Hawks share the stadium tho.
