i don't have a link, but i read that the Vikings would send Daunte to the Ravens for Ray Lewis. i personally like the trade, but don't see it happening.

If you're the Vikings there is NO WAY you can do that IMO. You are trading a top 5 young NFL QB for an aging and declining Ray Lewis, I would never do that.

Why do you like the trade? That gives you an aging Ray Lewis and an aging Brad Johnson. You might make the playoffs for one year, but it'd all be downhill after that..

i guess i would do it just because i am sick of Culpepper. and we would be saving a lot of money that could go towards some really nice free agents.

well everyone else loves Daunte, i just don't care for him. he has had just as many terrible seasons as he has super star ones. He is very inconsistent and everyone seems to have forgotten he tore almost everything in his knee. he never be the same again, i say we get rid of him.

I think a lot of his inconsistency can be blamed on the team's inconsistency, which can, well, be blamed on Tice. That era is over now though, and I gotta say, even as a Packers fan, that out of all the teams that changed coaches this year you guys were the ones that did it right. Let's remember that Childress is the man who helped groom McNabb, and he's also the former right hand of Reid, one of the current best anywhere. I see great things in the Vikings' future...
....but only for a second. Then I turn and look the other way so I won't have to see it anymore.

That's just about the same knock on every NFL QB...Manning, McNabb....it's just something that comes along. I actually think DC will be fine but this is another situation where I think people are saying the wrong things. The owner (I believe that's who it was) says "it's going to be a competition in camp for the QB spot"...Now why would you want your franchise QB who just tore his MCL,ACL, and PCL to rush in any way when you have a serviceable backup?? It just doesn't make sense to me, they should have DC take his time with this, this is normally an injury that takes a year to recover from and you put him in a competition...I didn't like that part. But all in all I think he will recover just fine but may not be totally 100% this year.

Exactly. Tom Brady is the only one who's really played well under pressure in the past few years. Look at recent playoffs. Manning, Manning, Vick, Delhomme, Pennington, Brunell, Simms. All decent QBs until the playoffs. Then look at Super Bowls. Dilfer? His defense won that game for him. Johnson? Not much to speak of. Delhomme and McNabb? Blew it big time. Even this year, Hasselbeck, who has failed under playoff pressure for three straight years, managed to keep it together just fine until the SB, and then couldn't get it done. Roethlisberger had to let Randle El do his passing for him. All good QBs tend to have a hard time coping with pressure. It's tough, especially when half the nation is counting on you. That's why they are a member of a team. When you have dependable guys around you that can step up and take some of that pressure off, like Dilfer, Brady, Johnson, and Roethlisberger all certainly had, you can win SBs. The point is: put your faith back in Culpepper where it belongs. He's given no reason to doubt him. He just hasn't had the talent or coaching around him to get it done. Now that he will, He'll be just fine.
