Report: Vikes offer 3rd-rounder for Rosenfels/ Talks OFF
Quote:
The Vikings have reportedly offered the Texans a third-round pick in exchange for backup QB Sage Rosenfels.
The corner, defensive line, and running back needy Texans are going to have to think long and hard about this one. As great a backup as Rosenfels is (he went 4-1 as a starter and threw 15 TDs in 2007), the Texans need draft picks. They're said to be holding out for a second-rounder. If acquired, Rosenfels would compete to start with Tarvaris Jackson, and probably be the favorite. Feb. 28 - 6:30 pm et

Isnt it amazing how teams fall into that? You would think a guy like Childress would know what we did when we dealt Feeley years back.

"Word out of Houston" is that the Vikings and Titans have broken off talks about a possible trade involving Sage Rosenfels.
The Vikings likely wouldn't budge from their offer of a third-round pick, while the Texans were holding out for a second-rounder. Matt Schaub missed five games with injuries in 2007, so Houston is playing it safe. The Minneapolis Star-Tribune suggests the Vikes may now turn their attention to J.P. Losman.

Losman, now there is a terrible QB, but if he was to be a backup, whatever as long as he is cheap. He has an arm and that is it, no accuracy or skills for reading defenses or making his progressions whatsoever

but Losman has had 30+ games as opposed to Tavaris' 14 games started.

i'm not ready to give up on TJax yet, especially if the alternative is Losman or Sage...i mean it's not like they're answer so i'd rather go for broke on Jackson.
