The Vikings have agreed to parameters on a multi-year contract with safety Madieu Williams, according to a person close to the situation, and are working through the final details.

Williams, 26 is expected to board a flight to the Twin Cities and arrive in the afternoon.

Williams is expected to receive a deal better than the six-year, $31.8 million contract safety Deon Grant earned for jumping from the Jacksonville Jaguars last offseason to the Seattle Seahawks. Grant's deal included $11.1 million in guarantees.

Last season, Williams started 13 games — missing three because of injury — and finished with 74 tackles, two sacks, seven passes defended and two interceptions. He is 6 feet 1, 203 pounds
