Head Coach Marc Trestman Hires Scott Milanovich And Vince Martino
Montreal, Jan. 9, 2008 - Montreal Alouettes Head Coach Marc Trestman announced today that Scott Milanovich has become the team's new offensive coordinator, while Vince Martino has joined the Alouettes as the offensive line coach.
Scott Milanovich served the Alouettes' quarterbacks coach in 2007 following four years as a coach in the NFLE. As offensive coordinator with Cologne in 2006, his Centurions had the second best red zone production in the league. In 2005, he served in the same position with the Rhein Fire, following two years working with that team's pivots. Milanovich played as a quarterback himself in every relevant professional football league, starting with the NFL (Tampa Bay, Cleveland) and the CFL (Calgary). He also played in the NFLE with Berlin, the XFL with Los Angeles, and the AFL, also with Tampa Bay. Following a highly successful career at the helm of the Maryland Terrapins, Milanovich made history in 2000 as the first overall pick in the XFL draft, by Los Angeles.
Vince Martino joins the Alouettes as the team's offensive line coach, following a World Bowl championship as the head coach of the NFLE Hamburg Sea Devils in 2007. Martino's vast coaching experience dates back to the beginning of his career in the 1970s with Boston College where he spent 11 years. He has also coached at the NCAA level with North Central College and the University of Maine. He spent 11 seasons with the WLAF/NFLE Barcelona Dragons' organization before joining the Scottish Claymores and eventually the Sea Devils. During the course of his career, he had the honour to work with coach Jack Bicknell for 30 years.
Head Coach Marc Trestman will continue to build his coaching staff over the coming weeks.
