The Montreal Alouttes are reportedly close to a deal with free agent Charles Rogers.
Rogers, the No. 2 overall pick in 2003, still owes the Lions about $10 million for violating the terms of his $55 million rookie contract. Montreal GM Jim Popp says the Alouttes wouldn't use Rogers as a deep threat, which is a good plan. The last we heard he was running his forty in the 4.8-4.9 range.
