FORT WORTH Texas (AP) - Undefeated TCU senior quarterback Jeff Ballard might not be in the most enviable position - if the Horned Frogs are going to have another stellar season.
There is a strange coincidence at quarterback in the three seasons TCU has won at least 10 games under coach Gary Patterson.
``I was kidding Jeff last spring, 'I'm sorry that you're going to have to get hurt,''' Patterson said. ``Because every time we've won 10 games, we've always ended the season with a backup quarterback.''
That includes last season, when Ballard started and won the final eight games for the Frogs, who finished 11-1 with the Mountain West Conference title and the No. 11 spot in the final Associated Press poll.
