Giants interested in free-agent guard Lehr

The Giants and the agent for Falcons free-agent guard Matt Lehr, Bob Lattinville, plan to exchange contract proposals this morning.

Lehr, a 6-2, 304-pounder who started 11 games at left guard last year, is being considered as a backup in the event last year's backup, Grey Ruegamer, doesn't get signed. Lehr, who has not visited Giants Stadium yet, served a four-game suspension for violating the NFL's policy on steroids and banned substances.
