I called Texas winning the National Title over USC about August of last year. Let's see if I can do it again:
I say this year is about as wide open as it has been since USC began it's college football dominance as the almost undisputed best team in the country since 2002.
I say the winner of the Louisville vs. West Virginia game will go to the title game, and I only say that because the other BCS schools probably won't go undefeated this year, and whoever wins that game, probably West Virginia, will be undefeated because of the relatively weak Big East.
Out of the other top teams in the country, I will say Texas by default. They haven't lost a whole lot, but what they did lose is Vinnie Young. I'm guessing Colt McCoy or Jevan Sneed will be able to put the Longhorn offense on auto-pilot enough to squeak out a season with maybe a loss to Oklahoma being the only blemish.
Final Decision: West Virginia vs. Texas with Texas repeating as National Champs after the Heisman Trophy is presented to Jamal Charles.

You drinkin Texasfight's kool-aid? no way a team with an untested freshman QB is gonna run the table. especially with OSU, OU and Nebraska plus the Big-12 title game.

Nah man. I don't like kool-aid. And if I was drinkin' kool-aid, it would be of the black and gold variety, not the white and burnt orange. I have nothing but respect for Mack Brown and Texas and I support your idea of a freshman quarterback not being able to lead a team to a title, but if your team is good, it can overcome things like that. I bet if USC had to use a freshman QB, they would have still been champions during the years that they won their titles. I just think because it's not a regular occurence doesn't mean that it can't happen. Plus, there's no team out there at this point that impresses me to the point that I KNOW that they are any better than Texas. Maybe once the season starts, I'll change my mind.

Don't you know Brown is the "Lloyd Carr" of the south? SC only got to the title game last year cause they cheated in the ND game. Four big games like those are a bit much to lay on someone like Texas's QB.Texas also has some underlying potential problems.{like being very thin at OL should a starter get injured**
