Yeah the title is funny, although I was scared for a second lol. But this is a little strange, seeing as gay hasn't done anything at all except get injured, if he makes some plays this year, he will get risigned by the pats (if they try to)

He had a pretty good season in their 2004 Superbowl season, which is why other teams would be interested in him. Its very possible that another team might offer him more. But even if no others do, I think that would be a steal. If he really is recovered from his hamstring injury, he has proven his worth... if he isn't, 1.3 million isn't all that much to lose... worth the gamble. I think it was more insurance to make sure if someone else grabs him, they get a draft pick for him.

i'm not one to question the thought process of the Pats, but i don't get this. He has played in a total of 8 games over the last two years. I say if another team wants him let them take him.

well you can get depth without having to pay 1.3 million. Besides why would you keep an injury threat on a secondary that can't stay healthy? I just don't get this move.

Because when he is not injured, he is very good at what he does. Maybe the Patriots staff knows more about his injury than we do... A calculated gamble, but I think it is worth the risk. 1.3 million isn't much this year with all the cap space they have available.

When he's not injured,hahaha. He only played two games last year, recorded two tackles. Only five games two years ago, recorded 12 tackles. And no picks in either year. Look i'm not trying to be mean, but he is not worth the money.
