Patriot Talk?
There's not much going on here in the New England Patriots section; which seems odd, since I don't think anyone can say that they're a bad team. Their record doesn't show it.
The Pats just opened their minicamp at Gillette Stadium, and rookie wide receiver Chad Jackson looks like a nice addition to the team.
Coming to the Pats from the Florida Gaters is, not only Jackson, but four others, including linebacker Jeremy Mincey, cornerback Vernell Brown, offensive tackle Randy Hand and safety Jarvis Herring.
Memphis placekicker, Stephen Gostkowski, is also worth watching.
This year's Patriots team will be a different team, but I think it'll still be a strong team, and not to be easily counted out.

It is not that the Pats are a bad team... they're a good team. However, this season, the Pats are up against some better teams. Cincinnati, Denver, Miami, Jacksonville, Indianapolis. I don't think they will even win the division this season now that Miami has Culpepper on board.
As for the draft, yes, they got great picks in both Laurence Maroney and Chad Johnson, but the Pats most pressing needs were in defense ... and they didn't fill those needs.
Summary: Patriots - A good team going up against great teams.

That's true. They are a very different - and untried - team this year. And you might be right about the opposition. This may not be their year, but I'm not willing to write them off just yet.
It doesn't help that Doug Flutie will be retiring, either. Jeremy Mincey, who played defensive end at Florida, is undersized but the Pats are known to take undersized college defensive ends and convert them into linebackers. It worked with McGinest, Bruschi and Mike Vrabel, but it might take time that they won't have this year.

Well I cant speak for the rest of the members on here but I am sure that the Patriots are not a very well appreciated team. I personally dont like to comment on them too much.

As a Pats fan...I am not worried about them at all.
I am predicting another division title and a serious run at the Super Bowl.
The defense was a need that had to be adressed at the draft, and they chose not to, but I am still not worried.

i wouldnt be worried either.. this team is still the Patriots which means they will find a way to not only win this division.. but make a playoff run while their at it.. even though they lost some key defesive players in free agency they are still a very good D and will still perform strong like they have been for the past 5 years.. I am convinced they will take the division but the dolphins will be right on their trail making a wilcard appearence..

I am not do you realize they lost David Givens, Willie McGinest, Tom Ashworth, and the greatest clutch kicker of all-time. Not only that, but they replaced him with Martin Gramatica! Who missed out the whole 2005 season. And in the 2004 season only made half of his kicks between 30-39 yards. Was 1/5 between 40-49. Dont like that addition at all.

It's all true. And almost as bad as the Packers losing Longwell and replacing him with Cundiff . The Patriots have a hard road ahead, and from my point of view, another Super Bowl run is out of the question.

BB will win 7-8 games out of sheer will. maybe add one more to that and you got your second place out of the playoffs patriots.
