Kickers are the most unpredictable from year to year. I think the last few years the kicker that was number one the previous year hasn't been all that great the following year (see Rackers). I usually pick a kicker with my last draft pick. That being said, I have Gostkowski in one of my leagues.
To maybe make you feel a little better, he had a horrible preseason last year as well... I think the kid will be fine. His kickoffs are fine, and, like Vinitieri, he is willing to get into the action... did you see his tackle against Tennessee? Whoever it was dragged him 3 or 4 yards, but he stopped the guy! Actually pretty funny to watch (but wouldn't have been had he got injured). Most kickers will pretty much step aside. He'll be fine!
