With the Deion Branch contract situation simmering, the Patriots took care of another important deal last night.
Running back Laurence Maroney, the Patriots’ first-round draft pick, agreed to a five-year deal, according to Maroney’s agent, Vance Malinovic. Terms of the deal were not disclosed, and Pats spokesman Stacey James declined to comment on whether a deal was even reached.
But Malinovic said he expects Maroney to be in uniform for the team’s first practice today at 9 a.m. He added that his client’s arrival for the opening practice was the target all along in the three-month negotiation.

It was official when I posted it, but thank you for posting the major sports outlet, I definitely like to have the espn or similar link. I love how everybody has everybody's back on this forum. that is what makes this site so great.

maroney is going to be a beast in BB's system, no if they can just get rid of that pesky dillon, LOL

sorry prof, didn't mean to double up on you there. I didn't see any dollar amounts in the one you posted, so I thought I'd post the espn version that mentioned monetary terms. anyways.... depending on how maroney does in preseason, I wouldn't be surprised at all to see him at least split time pretty evenly with dillon.
