Default Pats fall to Chiefs

Patriots just don't look like the same Superbowl team lately...I know they are hurting on D, but the offense has been dismal as well. I think they are really missing Charlie Weiss as offensive coordinator.

Some of the decisions they have been making on offense really puzzle me. Down by 16 points in the 4th quater and 8 minutes left, Brady waistes a timeout on a 1st and goal???? WTH was that. Spike the ball...Hand it off, but don't waiste a timeout in that situation. That is the least of my frustration -- I hope they get it together by playoff time.

They will still win the division, but they won't win a playoff game if they don't start playing smart football.

I wouldn't count them out yet. They are not playing to their usual ability, but they're still almost guaranteed to clinch their division. Also, if Brady and Bellicheck will be remembered for one thing, it's their ability to keep a cool head in high-stakes, high-pressure games. They may still turn it around in the postseason.

The Pats are done. See also: Eagles, Packers, Steelers, Vikings, Jets, etc. This has been a surprising year for many of us that expected teams that did well last year to keep going. Now, we're looking at the potentially undefeated Colts to face either Carolina or Seattle, two teams that have been consistently mediocre since they were formed, in this year's Super Bowl, and the playoffs to be filled with teams that have not done well since the 1980's, see: Bears, Bengals, Giants. It's been upsetting to people like me, who find ourselves already talking about next year, but I suppose every dog must have his day.

Talk to me when the Colts and Manning win a big game...I don't care if they go 16 - 0 in the regular season and get homefield advantage, they still need to win a big game. I'd like to think the Patriots will have it together come playoff time.

What do you call a big game? They beat the Pats, Steelers and Cincy when all three teams were gunning for them.

Dallas and the Giants bothed showed they could go up and play well enough to beat the Hawks and the Bears showed the Panther that they are contenders.

As in "Big Game" I mean an "AFC Championship" game, nevermind "SuperBowl"...Don't forget the Colts choke in the playoffs every year. I hope they go 16-0, because all the expectations and pressure will be on them.

But neither the Cowboys or Giants did beat the Hawks, did they? playing well enough to be a contender is one thing, but this is a sport that's all based on win or lose, be it by 2 points or 40. Believe me, as a Green Bay fan this year I know it all too well..

I was surprised by this win as well. I know the Pats are lacking several starters but still they are a great team with an excellent staff. I still don't understand how Brady threw 4 interceptions!? I don't recall the game clearly but I don't remember him being hurried that much. I could be wrong though.
