Default Branch update.....

Experts don't back Branch
By Mike Reiss, Globe Staff | September 4, 2006

Receiver Deion Branch has filed two grievances against the Patriots, but three experts believe he'll need a Hail Mary to emerge victorious.

The Pats win this going away," said Boston-based sports attorney Harry Manion, via e-mail from Europe. ``[Branch] will say they entered an oral contract to accept fair and reasonable compensation. There are a multitude of legal and [collective bargaining agreement] reasons why this is a dead solid loser.

Is he Deon Clarrett or Maurice Branch? The NFL contract wording is usually like a ducks ***. Its water tight and there is no way the Pats lose this one. This guy is a real piece of work. Youd think he had been to a pro bowl or had a 10 td season or caught 80 passes or had 1000 yds or wait a minute....he hasnt done any of this? bye bye Branch Bye bye baby.

Yea it really looks like the Pats are SOL on this one. Do I sense a TO jr here? Yes!!! There's a much better way to resolve this issue. Let his ego go. Sit down with the team and work it out. Don't play this I'm getting screwed crap.

I root for the browns and we could use a good wide out and I havent even considered him getting picked up for 2 reasons. A) he wants too much money and B) he is not that good.

first post : got to say a great forum.

Its a matter of doing business they have to make a point that if you hold out on your last year the pats FO will not bend over.Seymour is considered one of the top 5 in the league so the FO made an exception but to be not even in the top 10 and pulling the same stunt is bad.

quite a few of the starters are in the final year ....should not encourage hold outs .
