Default New England Patriots news 10/20

Pats take jab at Colts

In a tweaking of their litigious longtime rivals, the Patriots have asked the NFL to ensure the safety of their employees when the Colts visit Foxboro on Nov. 5.
According to Tom Curran of NBC.com, the tongue-in-cheek request is in reference to combustible Colts president Bill Polian, who was censured by the league for grabbing a Jets employee by the lapels this season while complaining about speakers he felt were too close to the field.
Polian, of course, has filed a number of complaints against the Pats, ranging from shoddy grass to their corners mugging his receivers.
The Patriots did not return a call seeking comment last night.

Default One play says a lot -- Stop vs. Bills a defining moment

The difference between a good team and a bad one in this age of parity is often a single play.
Consider the Patriots and the Bills. The former are 4-1 and running away with the AFC East. The latter are 2-3 and reeling after falling to the winless Lions last week.
The Patriots would appear to be many plays better than the Bills, and yet their season-opening matchup pivoted on one snap, when the Patriots executed and the Bills did not.
Don Davis’ diving stop of Willis McGahee on fourth-and-1 from the Patriots 7 set the stage for the Pats to rally for a 19-17 victory.

Default Pats In Deep Freeze

In 2005, when Tom Brady surpassed the 4,000-yard mark (4,110) for the first time in his career, he and his receivers connected on plenty of long passes - 25 of 30 yards or more. Even with Corey Dillon having the worst season of his career and Laurence Maroney still in college, the Patriots offense was first-rate when Brady's receivers were healthy.

But five games into the 2006 season, Brady and his receivers have completed just two passes of 30 yards or more, and tight end Benjamin Watson caught both.

The pats have running game similar to the 2004 .I actually think maroney and dillion together are going to beat dillon`s 1600 yrd season.

Now will it not be correct to compare the 04 SB winning season to this or last where we had no running attack?.
