Patriots DE was fined $12,500 for the hit he had on bills QB J.P. Losman that sent him out of the game injured.
Does anyone think that was a dirty play like the NFL claims? I think Wilfork was just trying to do his job...Things happen in football...

I don't think the NFL is definately saying it was a dirty play. You hit the QB low, and you get fined.
It happens to all of them. Its not like they are singling out Wilfork here... now the media, thats a different
story. How come every time I see a highlight of it on any of the sports stations, they are showing it
real close up, so you can't see right behind him, the Buffalo guy pushing him into Losman. Could it have
been avoided. Probably. But it was all pretty quick, and his instinct is to try and take the QB down.
It ended up being a low hit because he was pushed down by an offensive player. I think it definately was
not done on purpose, and certainly not malicious.

I disagree the ball was gone, and you dont tackle someone by throwing your elbow far right into someones knee. I think it was just a bone head play.

Well, its as Losman says. Theres only one person who knows the truth about it. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt because, as far as I can tell from interviews and such, hes been nothing but a class act since hes come to NE.

Sorry Pats fans, but that was casebook dirty. He stuck his elbow out and went straight for the knee. If he had gotten Losman before when he actually had the ball, I'd have called it a dirty tackle.

Wilfork gets a fine of only $5000 more then Owens when Wilfork did something that could have ended Losmans career and Owens did a TD dance

bottom line... going out to hurt someone and TD celebrations arent even comparable but in the leagues eyes, it obviously is
