Great game, but... HOLY SH*T, those refs were terrible... Those P.I calls were repulsive.

Hopefully you find this Prof. I tried to post it in the originating thread, but the thread was closed before I could. So I tried to find a thread that had a similar theme...

Okay, the NFL has claimed that it is not what it seemed pretty obvious it was when hearing it while watching the game. So we officially have no proof of anything now. (By the way, we have no proof of any wrong doing the Pats did as well). Part of what made "videogate such a big deal was that other teams had complaint about the Patriots having done it. How many other teams have complaint about the crowd noise at Indy? While we thought there was obvious proof, are you seriously saying that no one should have said anything? Are the Indianapolis Colts that precious to the NFL???? If the Colts are doing this, that is just so much more serious than what Belichick got caught at. You ignored it when I posted it in the other thread (or maybe I just missed your reply), but all Belichick got caught doing was filming from the sidelines, instead of right behind that in the stands... something that any team can legally do right now. Another words any team can get just about the same signals on film legally if they want... so him doing that really didn't affect any of the games. There is absolutely no question that piping crowd noise into the stadium would have a lot of affect on any given game... the type of affect that would make the difference between a win or a loss for most teams... and it just so happens that the Colts had been on a 12 game winning streak there! Come on, Prof, I'm really beginning to think you have some sort of agenda against the Pats alone.

Incidentally, Belichick handed over every tape he ever created... hows that not owning up to it. You mean not admitting to something no one has proof he did is classless and ignorant. Hmm. No one seems to have proof that the Colts are piping in crowd noise... should they admit to it anyway? What happened to innocent until proven guilty? Just applies to the Colts?

They lost a first round draft choice because Goodell wanted to make an example of the Patriots. Yeah, it wasn't major what had happened, but the league had warned them many times, and Belichick ignored them, and continued to do it. I think Goodell was angry about that. He saw the big deal that everyone was making of it, and knew he could throw the book at the Patriots and get away with it.

What I think is that Goodell has it in for the Patriots, and is willing to do it at the expense of the NFL.

Bottom line, the pats got caught doing something they weren't suppose to do. What was Goodell to do? You said it yourself, they got warned many times but ignored the warnings, so they got punished. That hardly defines the comish having it in for the pats. With that being said, and as much as I hate to say it, I hope the pats do go 16-0 and make everyone forget about the '72 Dolphins. It has always bugged me to hear how they get together and celebrate after the last undefeated team has gone down every season.

Its not the punishment Goodell threw out that makes me believe that he has it out for them, although I do believe that the punishment was a bit excessive... It is mainly, at this point, what happened in the Colts game that has me suspicious... Simmons said it best.

All this arguing over ruined record and being tainted are fueling the Patriots so Prof and everyone else keep this up, because your only helping the Patriots go 19-0.

Nice article. Probably would have had more credibility if Simmons wasn't a pats fan.
