Pats interested in McFadden?
The New England Patriots have considerable talent and depth at running back, yet that isn't stopping team officials from flying Darren McFadden up to Foxborough for a visit the Boston Globe reported.
NFL teams are allowed to host up to 30 out-of-town prospects before the draft, and the Patriots' visit with the Arkansas back — scheduled for April 10-11 - should generate buzz relating to New England having the seventh overall draft choice.
Is there genuine interest in McFadden? Might it be a smoke screen? Or is it just due diligence as part of the scouting process? As most of the heaviest hitters arrived in South Florida yesterday for the league's annual meeting, McFadden — who rushed for 1,830 yards and totaled 16 touchdowns last season — drew raves among some personnel executives. Ravens general manager Ozzie Newsome called him "a great player."

Just imagine an offense with Brady, Moss, Welker, McFadden, and Maroney. This is where I would shout for joy. I really think the Patriots should use this pick to improve on one of the best defenses instead of the best offense.

I don't think the Pats are that stupid to waste a pick that high on a position that wouldn't benefit them as other players available there would

That would be a nice offense.

Just thinking about it is nice but at some point I beleieve you can have too much offense. I think drafting McFadden is more of a Madden move then a real move.

No need. We got Maroney, and Morris. Faulk has a couple of more years, but I think we can get a FA next year to replace him.

No, I think Gholston should be the guy we take, he is a freak.

Yeah but no need, we still have almost all the pieces from last year, but we don't need a RB.

The Pats have a roster that would afford the the opertunity to take whoever they want. If Gholston is gone, any LB is a reach there. And IMO all the CB's are a reach at 7

They dont even run the ball that much lol. They already have a very solid RB dont need another one. I dont like the patriots but maroney is one of my favorite running backs.
