Forget Spygate; that was hammered into our heads enough during the offseason. Now is the time for focus to shift entirely to the team and whether it has the pieces to repeat last season's undefeated performance -- but this time finish with a Super Bowl trophy.
Obviously things look promising on offense as long as Tom Brady, Randy Moss and Wes Welker are out there, but the defensive secondary took a hit in the offseason with the departure of Asante Samuel and Rudy Gay, not to mention the injury to Ellis Hobbs. The Pats brought in some new faces to fill the spots. Time will tell just how much of a hit that pass defense will take.
Going undefeated again is unlikely, but you can probably bet on another trip to the playoffs for New England.
Last year taught me this. You don't plan on going undefeated. It takes extreme amounts of skill and luck. Just look at the game against the Ravens last year. They have the potential to go undefeated, but I would not bet on it, unless I had a pretty good handicap. Now them making the playoffs, I would say they've got a 95% of making it. There division sucks, they have an easy schedule, and they have most of the team, returning. But once you get to the playoffs anything can happen.

I've learned something from last year too... going 16-0 is useless unless you win the big one. So can they go 16-0.. maybe.. but I'd rather have a 14-2 season and take the superbowl then 16-0 and end up with nothing.
I think anyone would rather go 8-8, and suck, and the miracously win the Super Bowl. Then do what the Patriots did last year. Although you can't deny it was insanely fun until the end.I don't see any reason why this team won't be in the thick of it again. People takl about the corner backs, but they've won Super Bowls with sh*t playing at cornerback. Its all about the front seven on this team, and if they can get the job done.

Excatly... And I personally liked our draft after some time to think of it. We got Jerod Mayo, a Patriot LB clone, Shawn Crable is a beast, I also liked our corners we got.. and we got some nice FA pick ups at CB. I think we will be better off then last year.

I'll be honest. I trust Belichek but I'm a little worried about Mayo being an everyday player from the begining, mainly because of how much knowledge you need to play there. But hey Belichek knows more then me.
