Because, besides last year, the Colts and the Pats, in recent history, have been the number one teams of their division. So they play each other. And coincidentally, last year, the Colts and the Pats were both the #2 teams in their respective divisions, so they again get to play each other (then again, their two divisions play each other this season anyway, so it wouldn't have made a difference).

If both of them win their division this year, then they will play each other next year as well. If it happens, hopefully that one will be in Foxboro though. '03 was in Indy, 04, 05, and 06 were in Foxboro, and '07, '08, and '09 have been in Indy... we are due for a Foxboro meeting next season... the later in the season, the better. Maybe a little snow would make Peyton feel more comfortable...
