Faulk not slowing down
No Patriots running back has played more over the last two seasons than Kevin Faulk, as he participated in 43 percent of the offensive snaps in 2008, and 44 percent in 2007.
Some might view Faulk as a third-down back, but in the Patriots’ pass-based offense, he’s a No. 1 option at running back.
Faulk, who turned 33 on June 5, is one of those players who seems to get better with age. The last two seasons have been two of his best.
With this in mind, I asked him Monday how much longer he plans to play.
“My body is telling me to keep going, but you never know,” he responded. “Something could happen, but hopefully it doesn’t. I’m just taking it year to year.”
Faulk enters his 11th NFL season, all spent with the Patriots. He was a second-round draft choice out of Louisiana State in 1999.
