Patriots Patriots release Pass

Quote:
Karen Guregian of the Boston Herald reports one week after bringing him back into the fold, the Patriots released Patrick Pass. The fullback had essentially been out of football the past two years, after being cut from the Houston Texans following training camp in 2007.

”I just wanted to get a chance to build my confidence again, to play football after taking a year off,” Pass had said on Tuesday. ”I thought this would be the best place to come because I was here seven years. I just wanted to be able to show my skills and my talent again with the people I started with. The people who knew me best.”

Two years without playing ball would do that to a guy.

You would have thought the coaching staff would have expected that. I would think that they would give him the OTAs as a chance to get ready not judge him based on how he played.

Yeah, but who knows what that coaching staff saw in the OTAs. They must have seen something that told them he was done. Too bad...
