Saints | Bennett agrees to deal

Len Pasquarelli, of ESPN.com, reports the New Orleans Saints have reached a contract agreement with free agent RB Michael Bennett (Vikings). Bennett, who will serve as the primary backup to RB Deuce McAllister, will sign a two-year contract worth $3 million. The deal also includes a $1 million signing bonus. Bennett can also earn $1 million in incentives in each year of the deal.

Not a bad deal IMO, but I thought they were high on Stecker and Smith behind him, but this does add a better change of pace RB IMO.

yeah, if they like a guy that drops like a sack of dimes when the wind blows, maybe that's why he wanted to play in a dome. LOL

i would say it is a terrible deal, but they got Bennet very cheap. He should be a decent backup for the Saints.

true, but he could be a nice change of pace back. He is fast as hell and if he gets in the open field he is as good as gone.

He was a probowler, so he is obviously good enough.

Great signing for the Saints. He can spell Deuce and keep both he and Deuce healthier. Not to mention a great compliment to the pounding of Deuce.

Hes only good in the open field. bennet is fast as hell but he cant break tackles, and hes hurt EVERY YEAR. The saints got him cheep and as back up he should be fine.
