Hey he might be a non-tackle breaker, but he will be a solid back-up, just wait and watch ladies, oh and you too, Professor.

I might be wrong and we will all watch and see, but I just don't see how a guy that by your own admission is a non tackle breaker be a solid anything.

I whould take Urlacher or roaf over Davis if i were the saints, Yeah davis is good but they dont need a TE. The saints need Line backers O-linemen and DT.

Default (Round 3-debate), "The most realistic idea with the Saints."

I looked at the replies to my thread, "The most realistic idea with the Saints" and came to the conclusion that almost no one agreed with my logic. It is ludicrous to suggest that there isn't the slightest chance the Saints will pick Vernon Davis with their first pick or traded first pick. I see the Saints trading out of the second spot PERIOD because even if they were to pick Ferguson (OT) or AJ Hawk (LB) they can find them in a later spot where the Jets, 49ers, or Raiders are and at the same time pick up some extra picks for more talent. Vernon Davis, Ferguson, and Hawk are all top guys at their respected posistions, but my thing is that Vernon Davis will be the better choice with the first pick (via trade) because his athletic ability has never before been seen. Someone like Vernon Davis won't come around again until the next decade. A TIGHT END THAT RUNS A 4.38!! I mean come on you guys. If the Saints need OT or LB there are a whole slew of them available and that will be available at the 34th spot. I know there are many TE's available also, but none like Vernon Davis, in the draft or in the history of the NFL. Drafting OT or LB over Vernon Davis is like answering the questions: Shannon Sharpe or Willie Roaf? - Shannon Sharp or Urlacher? Remember this TE is an underratted posistion, but a posistion that is becoming popular. Shannon Sharpe played for the Broncos and won some Super Bowls and went to the Ravens and won a Super Bowl - he was a big contributer. If the Saints want to get with the program and have a new age team with a new age offense, you better believe they better draft Vernon Davis so teams can put an extra DB in the game so Deuce can run over their BUTTS! I have so much more to say but I will be replying to each one of your replies below by the (*).

you don't know how good Davis will be in the NFL yet so you can't compare him to Roaf or Urlarcher. Of course you will take them over Davis because they have expierence. But I will tell you this, Davis' talent will be like no other talent ever before seen at his posostion.
