Davis hasn't done anything, neither has anyone else, the draft is a crap shoot, But LBs and linemen are usually the most consistent picks. A TE can be a great addition, but guys who are beasts don't get drafted in the first very often, Gates wasn't even drafted.
DT is the Saints number one need. The run defense is terrible. They need a big guy to allow the LBs to make plays.
i hear ya nole, but davis will be a top ten pick, he is a special athlete at the TE position that can do it all, I still think San Fran takes him at 6.
you don't know how good Davis will be in the NFL yet so you can't compare him to Roaf or Urlarcher. Of course you will take them over Davis because they have expierence. But I will tell you this, Davis' talent will be like no other talent ever before seen at his posostion.
I was responding to what you said you compaired him.
Oh I agree he should be a top ten pick, but he is the best TE ever, and he might not even be the best TE in the draft, both Marcedes Lewis and Lenard Pope are nearly as good if not better total TEs.
hey NOLEFAN you called this year's draft crap, well it isn't. I will agree with you to a certain extent and that is that this year's draft lacks a mixture of DEPTH AND TALENT at the skilled posistions like WR, RB, QB, AND CB. Although there are some potential stars at those posistions, there aren't many people who we can call immediate impact players. Of course were have Reggie Bush and Matt Lienhart but there aren't many after them who we can say will be a 100% star athlete. But all in all this years draft isn't crap with people at other posistions like Vernon Davis, Fergusion, Mario Williams, and our top 5 or 6 LB's. This draft is diffrent, it has more quality players in those posistions that we will not usually use on the 1st or the 2nd pick overall in the draft - which goes back to me saying that the Saints will trade away their 2nd overall pick to get more pick to aquire more talent.
