This part really says it all though for them. After everything they went through they need people to recognize that there is even football there and Reggie does that for them.
No matter what though the $$ between him, Deuce, Brees will factor in and I wouldn't be surprised if McAlister is gone after this year.

Yeah I would tend to agree with that, Deuce could be gone after this year, too bad he signed that long term deal, because they won't get that much in a trade because once they make it known that they are trading him, teams will want to wait for a cut or only offer crap.

When a great RB falls into your lap you pick that guy up. Deuce fell to the Saints at 23 when they had Williams coming off a great year. Deuce is coming off an injury and depth at RB is a necessity in the NFL, not a luxury.

Yeah but you look at a lot of the RB's that are good/great and playing the %'s would tell you to wait a bit IMO.
If this was ANY other NFL team I wouldn't say draft him but he helps as a player and even bigger as a guy who brings people to the gates. My thing is, is how many times are they going to toss a #1 pick aside because the grass looks greener?

you're probably right, prof, but not another big money back like mcallister. they did bring in michael bennett remember. he's not going to scare too many defenses, but at least he could be used to spell bush once in a while

Bennett will be cut next year. He will stay this year in case of injury, and I liked Bennett. Bush and McAllsiter will stay in the backfield together for at least a few years,IMO. The Saints should know by now they need two backs, if not they haven't looked at their own damn team, the two years before last year Deuce missed 2-3 games, and they lost all of those games, in both years they missed the playoffs by 1 game, they should realize that extra back is a necessity.
