Default Will Smith

So with Dwight Freeney's new contract signed, how do you guys think this will affect the negotiations between Smith and the Saints?
I personally hope we can keep him, but it may be hard against the cap..

The 08-09 season is the last on his contract, but both him and the Saints have been talking about a new deal ever since Grant got one, although the talks are not to serious yet.

better to go ahead and get a deal than wait a year or so when there is even bigger contracts being handed out. honestly, when does it end? how much is too much when it comes to what some of these players are being played? it is sad that most of these players make more in one half of football than i do all year.

Don't the Saints have Darren Howard, Will Smith, and Charles Grant. That right there are three quality starter, defensive ends. They should just cut one and spend the money elsewhere. Like on the linebacking corps or maybe for a tight end.
