Default Meachum tweaks ankle and Pittman to see extended time with Palko

Thursday afternoon practice report - New Orleans Saints Beat - Times-Picayune NFL - NOLA.com

excerpt:

-Robert Meachem continues to struggle. He appeared to tweak his right knee while making a cut Thursday and hobbled through the rest of the practice. He needs to make something happen Friday to restore the confidence of the coaching staff. Right now, the first-round pick is no better than the team's sixth receiver, and that's only because Jamal Jones is out with a knee injury.

-Running back Antonio Pittman is also expected to see extended action against the Bills. Pittman hasn't received a lot of reps so far in practice. He'll carry the bulk of the rushing load after Deuce McAllister and Reggie Bush depart in the second quarter.

I haven't been empressed at all by Pittman. Meachem looked much better though.

To be honest,I don't know what to think of Pittman, one minute he looks alright, another he looks horrible.
I would really like to see him run behind our first team offensive line. I mean, to be realistic, the Saints don't really have the best depth at offensive line, I mean look at Palko, he was running his *** off all night. I dont think he did half bad for the line play he had.

A lot of that was his fault for holding the ball too long. The back up O-line is actually pretty good compared to some teams, and Pittman is running against scrubs and still not looking all that good.
