The risk in making such a proclamation this early, before the actual games even have started, is of sounding like a shameless homer, so provincial that it borders on embarrassing.
But, frankly, this is a book we can put down.
No need flipping to the last page to see what the end will be when it's already clear what the conclusion should be.
He won't flop, but he won't ever live up to the hype either. Come on, if these overpaid morons with too much time on their hands we call "experts" are already handing him the trophy, how is it gonna look when Vernon Davis gets it instead. They'll be calling Bush a bust, but he won't be.. He just has been overhyped to the point that no one could ever live up to. I really feel sorry for the guy, at this point...
trublu doesn't truly relay the jist of this article. He means that he is the rookie of the year in helping the community, for no rookie who has not even signed with his team yet, has given so much to his city.
Since being drafted in April, the No. 2 overall pick has teamed with his sponsors to give $50,000 to Holy Rosary Academy and High School and $86,000 to help seed the field at Tad Gormley Stadium, and to lend 12 Hummers to the Slidell Police Department for another year. And he's planning to make more donations under a 10-point plan that, if he didn't add another point, already has scored big in our rebuilding community.
No matter how you feel about his game, of which I don't think that he is as great as he is made out to be, he has done some really good things for the local community and for that I commend him.
As long as he doesn't hold out, he will be given a free pass by every person in Louisianna. He could come out and rush for 500 yards with no TDs, with everything he has already done in the community, as long as he is in for the season and doesn't look greedy to people who just lost everything, he will be embraced.
there is so much hype on this guy, and he hasn't even proven himself on the field yet, college is one thing, NFL is another, Bush will be so pumped up and so bigheaded that he's gonna end up making mistakes, i know for sure i wouldn't want to go into a season thinking i already have won ROTY....too much pressure, i think he will flop this year and bounce back next, but i could be wrong

I don't think he will "flop", but there is no way he lives up to the expectations people are putting on him. The next Gale Sayers, Barry Sanders, or anyone like that? Come on, this guy played against bad defenses his whole career, give him a few years to get used to the speed of great defense, which he faces at least 4 times a year in CAR and TB. Then get back to this.
yeah i agree he mightve played against poor defenses but he always showed up to get his #s no matter who USC played. and while he might not produce in NO like he did at USC u cannot overlook his talent. u cant teach speed, vision, cutback ability, all things that Bush does well. i dont think he will flop but NO needs to put talent around him fast so they can unleash his full potential. cause as good as he is sometimes he seems like he need good players around him at every position something that NO doesnt have other than Duece
the article was not declaring him the roty already, it was merely pointing out the good things he has done for the community. did anyone even read the article or my post.

You know these things get off topic. He is doing great things for NO, he will be loved by the NO fans for a long time.
