Default why not deal stallworth?

he was gone at the end of the season anyways. we have too many receivers who can actually catch to let stallworth run down the field just to drop the ball. besides, now we have the ammunition to get a quality veteran linebacker as a short term solution for our linebacking core.

I think the trade benefited both teams. The Saints were in big need of a MLB and they got a veteran guy in Simoneau.

If they wanted to trade Stallworth, why not try to get actual value for him, he is a terrible deep threat, but a great short receiver who can break it into a long run. People misrepresent his talent, and think because he is fast he must be a deep threat. He was worth far more than a crappy LB and a fourth(even if they resign him and get a third.)

we have too much receiver talent to wait on stallworth to learn to catch. we positivley will get a third round pick out of the deal. but i guess we could have watched him drop passes for the black and gold all year just for him too leave in free agency.

How much of that young "talent" has played well, Henderson was the worst pass catcher on the team, Hass, Lyman, Colston are all completely unproven, if you want to trust a bunch of rookies who haven't shown they are NFL caliber yet, that's you and Sean Payton, I like to know what I am getting, and with Stallworth you have a proven commodity.

a proven commodity, haaaaaahaaaaaaaa more like a proven ball dropper. anyways, colston is a beast and we have no problem at receiver. stallworth is an eagle now and that is the end of it. we came out better in this deal. when it is all said and done, we will have two proven linebackers in exchange for a receiver who has shown that he doesn't want to be a saint.

7 TDs, out the door, along with the teams leading receiver, for a back-up LB. Bell Man I don't know what kind of football you watch, but when a team's leading receiver is traded for a back up LB and a pick that will probably both end up being cut by this time next year, I would take my chances resigning the receiver who has proven to be a playmaker, even if it was for a different coach.

right now it is a 4th, the only way it is a third is if the eagles sign him to a long term deal before the end of the year.
