I believe Angelo was gonna take Santonio Holmes, then PITT moved up and got him so they traded down. Could be wrong, but it seemed coincidental to me.
I don't understand why people believe we need a "playmaker" on offense. Our offense isn't designed for playmakers, it's all about ball control and limiting turnovers, then letting the defense beat the **** outta other teams. Not homeruns or gimmicks. I'm sure we'll see Hester doing some reverses and **** like that but our offense will be a different offense this year. Griese alone assures us of that.
Randle-El would not have provided anything more than depth at WR. PR/KR isn't worth $30 million. Our offense put up 24 points against Carolina....and lost. If someone would've told me before that game we would put up 24 points AND LOSE, I'd have told them they were crazy.
Good draft.

I agree with what you said about the type of offense we have, and I don't think anyone expected this draft to turn us into the Colts or the Chiefs.
The bottom line is we were ranked 29th on offense last year. Thats terrible. Obviously the offense needs some improvements. To have an offense ranked that low and not pick ANY offensive players until the 6th round is a huge mistake IMO.
We really needed an upgrade at TE and this was one of the most TE-rich drafts in recent memory. We were in a perfect position to draft one in round 2, we probably could have gotten a quality guy who could have stepped in and been an improvement over what we have now.
