I am actually not upset with our draft, however, I can see how people would be disappointed by it.
But since when was a triangle just ONE ANGLE? According to a million and one stories already published the triangle will make their decisions TOGETHER.* And Studwell must have done an absolutely AWESOME job with the picks that he wanted for it to make Zygi want to fire someone who he brought in instead of someone who was already here. There's no way that little lie about how long he played, and the actual position coach job could have meant this much.* It had to be the principle of lying to them or just having a bad draft. Look at his tenure in San Diego though, that's what they should really be looking at.

The statement made by Wilf before the draft was that the three people would work together, but that FOLEY had the final say on who got picked if a concensous wasn't reached... he could have easily overridden the other guys and made the picks.
It sounds like there was a debate about taking Kellen Clemmins (sp?) at the 48th spot and Foley vetoed doing that and insisted he would be available at 51. When the Jets traded up with Dallas to grab him, there was... "disention among the ranks" to put in nicely.
My personal guess is that Foley then panicked and made the stupid trade to grab Jackson with the 64th. He could be a great QB for us in three years, but it was way to early in the draft to be grabbing him, IMO.
Most of the reasons I've heard given for Foley's firing, however, were issues that arose before the draft. The lies on the resume, and Wilf didn't like his managment style.
Hopefully, Studwell gets the job; he's been doing more of the interviews the last two days, and he should have gotten the position in the first place.
