Ok so the Cards actually sold out the stadium, but the Saints are well on their way. If they sell out, will the rumors of being moved finally end? If a city that can bairly support itself right now, can find a way to support it's team like never before...why would you move?

Quote:
In a stunning show of support from the Saints fan base, the team announced today that a franchise record for season ticket sales has been set.

The new record? 54,969. That surpasses the old record of 53,728 set in August of 2003.

It also shows that this record number of season tickets has been snatched up three months before the old record was set. Rumors indicate that there may not be any single game tickets available this season. And...could a season ticket waiting list actually come into existence?

How's that sound, San Antonio?

It's unbelievable support by any stretch, and garnered much-deserved praise from Saints' brass (see below)

One minor problem I had with the reaction was that Tom Benson said he was "very disappointed" with the sales of corporate suites to businesses, which at the moment is at 81 of 137 so far. But there's still a lot of time to go, and I wish Benson would have more encouraging words to offer after such amazing sales news.

Otherwise, big-time kudos to him and Rita Benson LeBlanc, who both offered great comments such as:

"I want to thank the devoted and loyal fans who have shown tremendous support for the New Orleans Saints. This is a great day for the Saints and the city of New Orleans and the state of Louisiana.

"To sell a record number of tickets four months before our first game is unbelievable."

"It's truly inspirational to see these fans rally around the team and the city."

The only reason is because of Reggie Bush

BTW, the stadium can hold 65,000. So they are only a little over 9,000 away from selling it out.

And no, Reggie Bush caused a recent spike, but Drew Brees was the biggest reason. They were already on pace to break the record before Reggie was drafted.

Drew Brees is a bum. He's nothin without LT and Gates let that be known. Anyways I'm glad because any team that resides in Texas is a enemy to me.

Dude are you kidding the Saints are loaded with talent.

Horn, Stallworth, Henderson
McCallister/ Bush
and add in one hell of a pass catching young TE who will soon get a bigger name in Zach Hilton since Brees loves to throw to his TE's. Hilton is a yopung guy not alot know about but that guy is money-- as a Buc fan I catch at least 2 Saints games a year and Hilton is one of the better TE athletes out there. Hilton could be the next Gates for Brees. Guy had 35 catches and close to 400 yards in only 6 gm starts.

Hey Rage I thought the SuperDome was 72K+ capacity-- did they lower after the rebuild
