Are you serious? If anything him staying the year makes me respect him more, because most people do just take the money and run. Staying in college when you're guarenteed to be the number 1 pick takes balls, I really don't think he tried to avoid the 49ers, I think he just wanted to enjoy his last year of college.

Leinart did play his junior year with an elbow injury that really limited where he could throw the ball. It was even bugging him going into the 1st game of last year's college season. I think he felt he'd do even better his senior year and show off his arm a little more, and wanted to enjoy his time at USC.....

He still had a pretty good year.
