Finally, a receiver at tight end! I wonder... after last nights opening drive and now this - have the Panthers decided to switch to a pass-oriented offense? I mean... they couldn't run last year so they kinda had to, but i'm talking Fox's offensive philosophy here... has it changed?

the guy has huge upside. i might pick him up in fantasy football. he's big and could become a dominant blocker, he has soft hands and knows how to get open. he makes bigplays everytime he touches the ball and is also a great redzone target

Seidman = camp fodder this year.

Gaines, i think, can be a go-to type tight end. With Smith & Keyshawn drawing so much attention, he could have a big year.

since Wesley Walls retired the Panthers haven't had a big time TE who can catch the ball.

I'm not going that far guys... but Gaines does look like a nice player if he is motivated. Gotta love the size and he has some skills but Seidman is still gonna get a shot. This is a a wide open position and saying Jeff King is a shoe in to make this team is a stretch. I doubt he does.

If it comes down to him or Seidman, i think King's in. He has more upside... Seidman? Well... he's been there for three years and has accomplished jack ****. Anyway... i'm glad they're finally giving Gaines a shot.
