Adam Schefter, of the NFL Network, reports the New Orleans Saints are looking to acquire San Diego Chargers LB Donnie Edwards. The team is offering a second-day draft pick.


Why don't they trade Donnie for Michael Lewis straight up? They have Reggie now...and we have a huge need for a KR/PR.....

It kinda bugs me that they are throwing Donnie to the wolves... but his injury must be hampering him enough to where AJ has no interest in keeping him at all.

Wilhelm, Cooper and Dobbins have looked pretty good playing his position.....
Most of his tackles happen well after the ballcarrier crosses the LOS...
And he's got a back injury.

Whining through the media isn't really the way to approach AJ Smith about your contract either. We've already seen how he deals with that....

He's a talented guy....but how much of that is due to the talent he's surrounded with? He's 34, on the last leg of his contract....wants a big money deal, and has guys behind him playing the position pretty well.

That's pretty much a no-brainer. He's not going to get re-signed and the Chargers are trying to get whatever they can for him before he leaves town for a better deal.

it seems like its been a real long time since New Orleans has had a good set of starting linebackers and that they might be desperate to try and change that at this point.
