Well....The main factors are his contract situation, age and the talent the Chargers have sitting in the wings behind him.
Whining through the media isn't really the way to approach AJ Smith about your contract either. We've already seen how he deals with that....
He's a talented guy....but how much of that is due to the talent he's surrounded with? He's 34, on the last leg of his contract....wants a big money deal, and has guys behind him playing the position pretty well.
That's pretty much a no-brainer. He's not going to get re-signed and the Chargers are trying to get whatever they can for him before he leaves town for a better deal.
