Dude....i hate losing too but i didnt see any bad calls by the refs.
The Dhani Jones illegal contact was kind of iffy, but correct, and i never saw the Scott Young holding call on the Garcia scramble, but I wouldnt say they lost the game for us.[/b]
I'm not sure, but I swore I saw a blown holding call on the TD by Bush. You always know that when a guy's about to make a tackle and he goes down while his "blocker" just holds his hands up, that it's usually a hold. That, plus, on Lewis' return in the 3rd quarter, the zebras missed TWO blocks in the back.

What lost us the game was terrible playcalling on defense. For one thing, when its 3rd and 12, and you're blitzing, why are you giving up the quick slant? Why isnt the CB up at the LOS and forcing a deep, lower percentage pass? Why does the WR get a clean release and get into the slant without having to get hit. By just having a CB at the LOS, it throws off the timing of the route and lets the pressure get there.[/b]
Amen. Stupid play calling.
We saw it several times. On that 2nd to last drive, when Walker got the sack, Brees dropped back for the quick slant, but the press threw off the timing and he was forced to tuck it in, by which time the DL was on him.

Also, why, on 3rd and 1, knowing they are going to try to run the ball....every red blooded human on the planet knew it, why do we go with a 4 man DL and have our LB's 5 yards off the LOS? Thats stupid and frankly, a pop warner coach could have made a better call than that. You dont do it, especially when its a do or die play. If they get it, you lose....why do that?[/b]
Can I get another amen? It seems like AR's overthinking tendencies permeated JJ's brain tonight. No, they are just THAT straightforward. Run, run, run, toss to Colston. That was the Saints offense.

Im a huge Jim Johnson fan and im not going to criticize him. He's done more for this franchise and defense than any fan can appreciate. But i truly wish there was some way to get him to explain the thinking there. Im not saying he should have done something different. He knows more football than is imaginable....but I just want to know what the reasoning was there. Did his film study make think NO would take a shot deep? Did he think they would run a toss? What was it that made him go with a 4 man DL and his LB's that far off the LOS? I truly want to know so i can learn. [/b]
I'd like to know too.
Oh, and another order of business: Re-sign Stallworth. Tonight. Right now. No kidding.
Crying about the refs after a loss is the easiest way to be seen as a punk *** ***** by the rest of the football world. It's even worse when nobody else even saw any bias.

OK...you have to be a little more specific...what call or calls are you referring to?
OK...as a lifelong Eagles fan let me be the first to say congrats to the Saints...THE BETTER TEAM WON....the Eagles had their chances to win this game.....2nd and 1 inside the 5 and you only come away with a field goal.....recovering a big fumble near midfield with 3 minutes remaining...terrific field position...they did nothing with it....they couldn't stop McAllister all night and couldn't stop him when everyone in the building and the US knew he would run the ball 3 times late to keep the clock moving.....they still didn't stop him. The only thing I think you can ***** about is where they spotted the ball inside the 5...I thought Westbrook had the first down or was a hell of a lot closer than the spot...but they still should have picked up the first down or scored a TD...no excuse.
The Saints won virtually every statistical category...in the end the fear I had about the team can true...the defense couldn't carry them through the playoffs...that and they were beat at the line of scrimmage tonight....their line play is what got them this far...when you break all that down and look at the stats I think it is amazing Garcia got the team that close to winning.....
Quit crying like a *****.....the Eagles lost and I will go into next year like the other 33 years of my adult life have been spent...telling myself "Next year is the year".....another year and no title.....I've never experienced an Eagles Super Bowl Victory first hand so I have no idea what I am missing...life goes on.
The only thing that will piss me off is if I hear talk about the Eagles choking......that is bull****...the way this team fought back this season and played in the playoffs there is no way you can call this team chokers....it was a great season and went beyond my expectations....fact is the better team won plain and simple but Philly put up one hell of a fight and I am proud of them. [/b]
How much did they miss Andrews in the late second half tonight?

Why is it fair that the saints get help from the refs and win the game not because they are good but because the refs gave them every call. I hope the nfl does something because this is ridiculous. and i never believed the conspiracy theories about the saints until i saw it was def. true. that game was bull ****
[/b]
It's a man's game. If you're a man, you can take it. The Saints won. The Saints are the better team.
