Nolefan's Saint Mock
After the biggest part of FA is done, and the combine is over; here is what I WOULD LIKE the Saints to do in the draft.
1. DRC- The biggest need is still corner, even with Gay. McKenzie is coming off a torn ACL so he might not even be ready at the year's start.
2. Curtis Lofton- Might go earlier, but there is a chance he could still be here, great versatility as a LB, can go inside or outside if he needs to.
3. Letroy Guion- The Saints got destroyed up the middle last year, Guoin may not be huge, but he gets in the backfield well and and is good against the run.
4. Traded to Jets for Vilma
5. Jonathon Zenon- Both LSU corners have played man and both are projected as low round picks so if either is available pick them up here.
6. Geno Hayes- Slow forty time hurts him, and hurts him bad, he is small but plays fast and has talent, he can learn behind Simoneau and Fujita how to shut his piehole and just play the game.
7. Any QB who has ptoential. Need a back-up and a project for the future.

I thought the 4th was in 09 and could go up to a 3rd if he plays well.
After signing Gay and spending a 2nd on a CB last draft I would be surprised if they go CB again that early. If Ellis is there they would jump all over him if not I think the LB from USC would finish turning an OK LB group into a very good one.

I dont see them going CB again. Plus with a pick as early as the Saints have they could get a higher ranked corner the DRC.

Its a strong CB class, but it doesnt have that top guy. It wouldnt surprise if DRC winds up being the first CB gone. It wouldnt shock me to see him go to NE at 7

If DRC goes first Brandon Flowers could get overlooked. IMO I have no problem having Brandon Flowers fall down the boards to 31 :P.

It's our fourth rounder this year, we get their fourth next year, and the conditional pick is a third or second next year.

I think Mike Jenkins will be gone in the top 9, and DRC is my second highest rated corner. Jenkins is the guy I actually want most, but I see him being gone.

I agree with you, Pats or Ravens should jump on Jenkins..
But if they didn't, do you think NO would take him?

I hope so, he is a lock down man corner, and a physical guy. Two things we definitely need, he is my #1 corner a little ahead of DRC and Flowers.
