Default Alexander in N.O?

After wrapping up his visit with the Bengals on Monday, free-agent running back Shaun Alexander is scheduled to visit the New Orleans Saints on Wednesday, NFL Network's Adam Schefter is reporting.

Shaun Alexander, RB
Career statistics
Years: 8
Attempts: 2,176
Yards: 9,429
TDs: 100

Alexander was released by the Seahawks in April, just 26 months after the running back signed a $62 million contract as the franchise's cornerstone. The move came after Seattle signed free-agent running backs T.J. Duckett and Julius Jones in the offseason.

"I will be playing for another NFL team this fall, and doing everything I can to contribute," said Alexander, who ran for just 716 yards in 13 games last season -- his lowest total since he replaced Ricky Watters as Seattle's lead back in 2001.

"I am healthy, energized and looking forward to beginning the next chapter of my NFL career," he said.

Stupid move IMO, Their problem is that they don't have a solid healthy RB, why add a sh*tty broken one?

If he will sign for the league minimum, bring him in, Deuce, Regg, Pierre and Stecker need someone to carry their bags.

Lol yeah, I can't imagine much more then that. There adding the same type of back Deuce is, although Deuce is good when healthy...

Alexander isn't the same type of back Deuce is, I have never seen Deuce run out of bounds to avoid contact. Alexander is a vagina, he just had good seasons behind a ridiculously good O-line.

And who knows that kind of contract Shaun will be willing to take. Besides, as long as Deuce remains healthy, there isn't much need for Alexander. He would probably be a better fit for a team like the Cardinals who could use a power back. P.S. nole, did you get my message?

Deuce is just one of those guys who always seems to get a tendon injury. Never broken bones or anything like that, he must have the most brittle tendons ever, maybe other than Gore.
