the jets' offensive weapons in general the last couple years have been subpar. they lost lamont jordan to the raiders, santana moss back to the redskins, and laverneous coles couldn't catch a ball if you stapled it to his hands. its hard for a QB to be good when his team isn't, and then he gets hurt. I would tend to agree that, at least as a jet, pennington's career could be done after the draft. he still has game left in him IMO, it just depends on who's willing to take a risk on him

lets also not forget that ramsey hasn't really proven himself a solid, reliable starter. obviously they saw something in him to trade for him, but IMO that doesn't mean they've solved their QB issues. if pennington is on his way out, they'll need someone to back up ramsey, anyways. I suppose it is possible that they wait til later on the first day to grab a QB, if they have enough faith in ramsey (again, assuming they are going to get rid of chad)
