I wouldn't mind a first rounder and a second rounder, or a first rounder and someone else.

Hammer here is the problem: You aren't the Front Office so you don't know what will happen. They, like said, are going to ask a ridiculous price for him.........and as I discussed in a different thread the rising in the salaries given to players would start this all over again when someone gets a new deal. It is not worth it.

Well it's going to happen anyways, so why not have someone for the whole year and not the last 6?

I think the Pats are going to try to work something out that is good for them and Samuel unless Samuel is an *** then they might end up having to release him.

No way they release him. They either trade him or he signs. IMO.

Look at it this way. Samuel is asking for a lot, more than the Pats want to pay. This amount will carry on into a trade and most teams, like the Pats, don't want to pay that much for him. So if it unfolds like that and he won't restructure. He could be released.

Either the Pats will pay him, or someone else will, and the Pats will take less then equal value in return.

How less value? He doesn't want to play. If we can get any other player that wants to play, it's automaticaly a plus. And if some one wants Asante fine, but they're going to give up 2 first rounders.
