Jets RB Jones injures lower right leg
Aug. 12, 2007
CBS SportsLine.com wire reports
HEMPSTEAD, N.Y.-- New York Jets running back Thomas Jones limped off the practice field after injuring his lower right leg Sunday.
There was no immediate word on the nature or severity of the injury, but it appeared to be either to his ankle or calf. Jones wasn't made available to the media, and coach Eric Mangini had already addressed the media before practice.
Jones was untouched during running back drills when he went to plant his right foot and fell. He immediately took off his helmet and untied his shoe before he was examined by a trainer, who wrapped his lower right leg.
Jones, acquired from Chicago to give New York a bona fide No. 1 back, limped off the field to the sideline and had a more substantial wrap placed around the leg.
Jones spent the rest of practice on the sidelines, working the hand bike and stretching. He walked very gingerly, but was able to put weight on the leg. Jones also was clearly able to move his ankle. [/b]

sounds like it's not serious. jones typically has one injury that plagues him for a season, that will cost him a start or two during the season, but this guy is a warrior. the only thing i'd worry about as a jets fan is the fact that tj isn't fast to begin with, so having a bum wheel wont help out that situation.

This injury suprises me considering Thomas Jones does everything he possibly can to avoid contact.

I still find it kind of funny that he got hurt...falling down(with no contact). He needs to stop doing that.
Not laughing at the injury, just the irony of how it happened.

Yeah but I thought the Bears traded away the RB that WASN'T "injury-prone." The national media is pretty annoying sometimes. TJ was a warrior but he wasn't exactly bulletproof with the Bears.

Thomas Jones: Achilles Strain Leads to Calf Strain --
Mon Aug 20, 2007 --from FFMastermind.com
#
SNY NFL Insider Adam Schein reports that Jets RB Thomas Jones had an achilles injury that led to his calf strain. "A source close to Thomas Jones tells me that the orginal injury the running back had was an achilles strain, and as a result of favoring that injury, one week ago in practice, he suffered a calf strain," said Schein on SNY's Geico Sportsnite. "The same source did tell me, Adam, he will be ready for the New England Patriots game in Week One. Achilles strains can linger thoughout the course of a campaign. So it was an achilles strain that morphed into a calf strain."
