Jets RB Jones ends off-season boycott
Quote:
Rich Cimini of the New York Daily News reports disgruntled RB Thomas Jones ended his off-season boycott of voluntary team activities and showed up for today's practice in Florham Park.
Jones, the AFC's leading rusher last season, has two years left on the contract he signed only two years ago. Since then, he has made $13.1 million, making him one of the higher-paid running backs in the league over that span. This season, his base salary drops to $900,000. That, coupled with a $3 million roster bonus due next March (a bonus that Jones knows he probably won't see), has him looking for more financial security.
Leon Washington, didn't report today, continuing his boycott into Week 3.
