Ferguson was a good pick for the JETS... they already have a solid backup in Patrick Ramsey .. they lost Jason Fabini and Kevin Mawae in free agency.. the only way to protect Chad Pennigton is to get him an O-Line.. Good pick for the Jets...

not only that but they got mangold who was easily the best center in the draft to pair up with him.

actually there were a couple of teams rumored to take whitnor in the mid first which is why buf took him so high, I had him rated as a late first early second, so they definitely reached on him, but they wanted him and were afraid that someone else was going to take him.

Well they'd have a quality qb if they had a quality line, look at the other franchise tackles success?
Ogden- superbowl ring
Pace- superbowl ring
Jones- superbowl appearance
Glenn- heart of the nfl's best offense

That's true Blitz, but Fergy isn't exactly the Beast that the guys you listed are. He doesn't eat speed rushers for breakfast and drink a Seymore Smoothie for lunch like Pace, he doesn't throw guys like ragdolls like Ogden and Jones. If he comes in and dominates I'll get off it, but he didn't dominate college DEs, how is he going to fare against much better pro DEs. He needs to get better at technique, strength, power, and knowing where to go.

I see a lot of talk about this draft, and everyone seems to forget one major point. This was NOT a good overall draft class. You had many players that could have been drafted in the top 5. Others drifted from the 1st round to the 3rd. I am seeing way too much talent overestimation in a lot of posts. In past years, the meat of the draft has been selected cuts of steak. This year is was hamburger meat. Just exactly who is this improved Jets line going to protect? Pennington can't throw the ball more than 20 yards and Ramsey is terrible. Anyone who thinks otherwise simply has to check the record books. Everyone tends to bandwagon. Leinart was by far the most polished QB in the draft. He has already learned the Phoenix playbook, and is having a great mini camp. But people listened to CSPN and jumped off his bandwagon. A4rizona gets an absolyute steal. Meanwhile the Jets make an improvment to their offensive line so they can protect a nobody at QB. That is like spending $500.00 on a new putter to use at a minature golf course.

i agree they did end up havin a good draft pick. everyone keeps sayin the should have drafted lienart but there was no need to do so. they already are good in the QB position. i like there pick and i think it willwork out for them but we will jus have to c.
