Bush had a supporting cast at usc. He had an awesome line, awesome qb, and awesome wide outs. The deffence was phenominal meaning that the offence has more plays. If the texans drafted bush hw wouldnt be able to adapt to the poor line, and crappy defence. I respect carr and davis, dominick is amazing, i would like to see what he could do with a good oline. And carr keeps taking hit after hit after hit and keeps getting back up.

Williams was on a line with two other first round picks, so he wasn't exactly surrounded by slouches.
Bush was playing with a great team, but he would have given the Texans a threat on every play, from almost every position. Williams can't do that. Bush might not be any good, but the potential for legend is there. Williams has he potential to be a ProBowl DE, and not much more. He was mediocre in college, but had several great games, and then amazing workouts. He is the defensive equal to Jay Cutler, great workouts made him into a top player, if they based it on actual football tape he would have been the second or third DE taken.

Williams didn't even do good until the end of the season, Reggie Bush did good like what....ALL THREE YEARS AT USC. I honestly think Williams should't have even been drafted in the first round. Based on his past season performences. But that is just my opinon.

He was still projected as a top 8 pick even if Houston didnt make him #1. He was definetly top round caliber.

We used to talk about the first overall pick at work all the time pre-draft,and my co-workers can tell you I said the Texans wouldnt pick Bush first.I think they did the right thing by drafting what they needed. They already have a solid back in Davis,2 proven WR's,defense was the area for improvement.I did think they would trade down to pick up an extra pick mid round.

He was highly projected because he had great workouts, not on merit from games. He will probably be another Courtney Brown. Just a guy with big hype who turns out to be a decent NFL player, but never anything special.

Yes I could see that happening, although I think he will be a little better.

the texans made a huge mistake. if u have the opportunity to get a talent like reggie bush u HAVE to get that player. williams' numbers wont be near as good as bush's numbers in 10 years

that is just speculation at this point. The main point that I was trying to make was that reggie is a need that the texan's did not need. Kubiak comes from a team that picks backs up late and makes stars out of them, the biggest needs for them was dline, oline first and they addressed those needs very well. Bush could bust just as much as williams could, they picked him because they needed him more.
