I really never liked Russell any more than Brady Quinn. They both did nothing against good defenses, they both looked amazing when they played cupcakes, but Russell is bigger, stronger, and had a cannon, so he is number one while Quinn slides. Look at Russell's numbers against Florida and Auburn and tell me if he looks like the best player in this draft. I would take Johnson or Thomas without question at number one, as both fill a need, anyone who watched a Raiders game and says those receivers are worth a damn is kidding themselves(that ain't the Moss of 5 years ago)

It still isn't garunteed, and I would still say it is about 50/50 right now, but with Moss and Porter still on the team and the places for Moss to get traded to dwindling it's hard to say Johnson is a lock for them.

I really, really wouldnt be surprised if the raiders trade down. Alot of times when their is an elite prospect at the top, teams with the top pick trade down. Ki-Jana Carter, Michael Vick, Orlando Pace, just off the top of my head. Teams will be willing to throw a deal at Oakland that they cant refuse

In all fairness, the receivers weren't the problem. O-line, o-line,O-line!!!!! O-line didn't give QB enough time, receivers didn't have the time to run their routes. O-line, O-line!! It all started with the O-line!!!

ya know, i know most other people didn't think much of him, but i think the raiders should try and develop Andrew Walters. Last year he played like a rookie but he pretty much was concidering his first year he was throwing with the first team offense. I think what would work for them is trade moss, draft Johson, and get Trent Green on a two year deal, he can start next year for them, and support Andrew Walters in his development in the second year of his contract.

Same goes for you then, because you're in denile that the Raiders won't take anyone but Johnson.

Houston last year needed everything, they went with the DE because they wanted someone who can put Peyton Manning on his back. i wouldve went with Reggie Bush myself, but taking Williams makes sense in a way.

I am still not impressed with Russell. He was overweight at the Combine. After losing 9 pounds in preparation for his Pro Day, he ran an AWFUL 40 time. His arm reportedly looked good, as expected, but then why did he skip all the other drills everyone else has done (bench press, shuttle runs, vertical and broad jump)? And Seriously, when was the last time a QB (or anyone for that matter) had a bad Pro Day?
In college, Russell incurred shoulder and elbow injuries that sidelined him for the 2005 Chick Fil-A Bowl with the same three first-day wideouts Russell had, (Dwayne Bowe, Craig Davis, and Early Doucet) little-known Matt Flynn led the Tigers to a 40-3 romp over Miami.
Yeah he can throw the ball the length of the field, and rumors have him doing it from 50 yards away while kneeling, so could Boller LMAO!!!
