Oliver-SD
Gaither- Baltimore

Great picks by both IMO. With Flornence a FA after next season Oliver could move in as a Nickback with Cromartie taking Florences spot. And if he is ready to START at CB, they can move Jammer to FS, where alot of people think he could thrive.

Gaither is in a good situation to where he can sit and learn, but I dont think he will be ready for 2 more years, and with Ogden, They may need gaither to step in in 2008. I also wonder why he fell so much, it seems he should have went before Oliver

I don't really see why Oliver would go to SD with them having that Florida State corner (can't spell his name) and Jammer.

Because Florence is a UFA after the season, and alot of peoiple think Jammer may be best at FS. Even if they keep Jammer at CB, you play 3 CB's for decent amount of the game, and in the more critical situations

Ok, as for Florence, if he leaves next year wouldn't they be able to pick up someone better in next years draft? As for the Jammer thing, who do they have at FS already?

I was saying for awhile now that oliver should go to SD, it is a perfect fit. He fits their defensive style to a T. Gaither to the Ravens is a great pick by them and he has some good coaches and players to learn from and they were starting to get thin on oline, I am just a bit surprised they lasted that long

Mabey too many ?'s for team to give up a day 1 pick for.

Im actaully surprised Oliver went ahead of Gaither. From what Ive read, Gaither was considered the better prospect, it could be one of those tell tale things. I dont think his bench press hurt that much, teams had to know he would be limited because of a shoulder injury

I am not saying it doesn't make sense. Just thinking they could have got someone better next year.

How, exactly.

Oliver was generaly rated as the second best CB in next years draft, and could have been a top ten pick. I have seen plases that havent taken him and Gaither off their list yet have Oliver as a top 10 prospect. And they got him for what, a 4th round pick

i think it was a case of everyone thinking that and everyone underbidding and some teams probably were like damn, we should have bid one round higher and yes oliver for a 4th round pick is a really nice deal
