Ok, I'm a diehard Vols fan and I do think the SEC plays the best college football in the nation. That said, I can't name one SEC player drafted in the top ten who has turned out to be a bust. I'm sure there has been some, but who were they? And am I wrong in thinking that players drafted out of the SEC have a lower "bust" potential than players drafted out of other conferences? Seems to me that the SEC has had more players drafted in the first round turn out to be stars than almost any other conference. Try to ignore my bias here but this has been mulling around in my head and I'd love to get other peoples input.

Off the top of my head Aundrey Bruce is one of the all time bust.
Heath Shuler is another.

hearst was a top 3 pick and therefore was projected to be a GREAT RB not just a quality one.injuries are what kept anybody from ever knowing how good he may have been.
that is why i put an asterisk by his name.
anderson was a top ten pick and has been to only one probowl so i would say most people would qualify that as a bust since i think when any team takes a player in the top ten they do so because they think he will be a perrenial pro bowler not just a solid player.

Pro Bowls really arent a great measuring stick when looking at a guy from a bad team, like Anderson, who doesnt get much attention as a result. He really is a very good and very underrated player. If I was a Bengals fan Id be happy with that pick and definitely would not call him a bust.

i tend to agree.
i was just going on what the majority seem to consider busts.
not all top ten picks can be probowlers otherwise we would have 100's of probowlers.
